Flexible in production

– with extensive operator convenience

Our TruFiber S can be used for a wide range of applications - from machine and systems engineering to sheet metal processing and the automotive industry. With up to 12 kW of power and up to two pluggable laser outputs, they can be flexibly integrated into production lines and converted to new processes when production tasks change. We supply everything from a single source: With TRUMPF, the laser, control, beam delivery, processing optics and sensor system are optimally adapted to one another.

What makes the TruFiber S so special

– Its special features at a glance
One laser, double the productivity

With up to two pluggable laser outputs, work can be carried out at one station while the other is being prepared. This avoids downtimes. Jobs can be carried out one after the other with full power or simultaneously with shared power.

Focus on more uptime

The pluggable laser outlets of the 50-meter-long laser light cables enable plug-and-play in self-service and also flexibility in the production layout. The optional absorber also facilitates maintenance and remote diagnostics during operation.

Low-spatter welding at maximum speed

With the innovative BrightLine Weld beam shaping system, you can weld virtually spatter-free - even at high feed rates. The technology uses a patented 2-in-1 laser light cable in which you can flexibly distribute the power between the fiber core and fiber ring.

Integrated control for laser, optics and sensors

TruControl is the fastest and most intelligent laser control system on the market. This allows you to control your laser directly and without external modules. The system not only controls the laser power in real time, but also allows optics and sensors to be programmed.

Stable processes around the clock

The active power control keeps the laser power constant to within +/- 1 % and ensures consistently precise processing results - over the entire service life. The robust and dust-protected design guarantees maximum reliability in 24/7 operation.

Further advantages

  • Worldwide consultation and fast support

Why have five service agents when one is enough? We offer you a complete system from a single source - and are there for you 24/7, worldwide. Our experts provide you with comprehensive advice on application, materials, process parameters and the optimum combination of laser, optics and sensor technology.
  • Safe and reliable with PLe

The TruFiber S meets the highest safety level Performance Level e (PLe). Redundant safety systems and fast error detection increase your safety in production - without additional measures on the laser.

The TruFiber S in use

– What you can expect

Do you want high-quality, tight and visually perfect weld seams with minimal rework on materials such as mild steel, stainless steel or even copper and aluminum? The TruFiber S is the ideal choice for anyone who carries out macro welding applications with a lot of power and high throughput. You benefit from a high-end fiber laser with numerous features from the TRUMPF portfolio that enable maximum flexibility - optimally tailored to your production and supplemented by worldwide support around the clock.

Welding busbars

Welding busbars

When welding battery terminals to live rails, high conductivity, mechanical stability and low-spatter processes are crucial. In addition, height differences must be detected and reliably compensated for.

The TruFiber S with BrightLine Weld enables precise and reproducible welded joints with minimal heat input. The high beam quality ensures fast cycle times - ideal for productive and stable batch production.

Welding can-caps

Welding can-caps

The gas-tight sealing of prismatic battery cells must ensure a robust connection and a uniform welding depth. In addition, metal splashes must be avoided and heat input limited to protect internal battery parts.

The TruFiber S multimode fiber lasers offer the necessary beam quality for different material thicknesses and component sizes. BrightLine Weld achieves low-spatter welding. The active power control also ensures permanently reproducible results - for reliable and process-stable sealing.

Laser welding of electric motors

Laser welding of electric motors

Hairpin contacts in electric drives require low-porosity weld seams for optimum conductivity and fatigue strength. Fast cycle times and seamless quality documentation are also crucial.

The TruFiber S with BrightLine Weld enables low-spatter welding and maximum energy input into the welding spot. The active power control ensures permanently reproducible results, while the optional sensor interface allows the integration of established process monitoring systems for quality assurance and documentation.

Remote welding in the automotive industry

Remote welding in the automotive industry

When welding crash-relevant components, the weld seams must have a high fatigue strength in order to function reliably even in the event of an accident. Complex, three-dimensional geometries, such as C-clamps, place additional demands on the welding process.

The 3D optics of the TruFiber S guarantee precise and stable weld seams, even on complex components. The possibility of alternately supplying several work stations with a laser makes the process efficient and flexible.

One system. Everything TRUMPF.

– Discover available components and services for this laser

With TRUMPF, you have a partner who not only supplies technology, but also reliable process results - solutions that measurably advance your production and pay off through sustainable success.

Programmable focusing optics PFO 20

Optics

Guide and focus the laser beam

Overview

Optics focus the laser beam precisely onto the workpiece - exactly at the point where the processing takes place. TRUMPF offers two variants for this:
Classic processing optics (BEO) focus a laser beam on a fixed processing point. To cover the processing surface, either the optics or the workpiece must be moved.
Programmable focusing optics (PFO) use mirrors to flexibly direct the laser beam to any position in the processing field - without any mechanical movement of the workpiece or optics. All optics can be combined via an interface with various sensors for process monitoring - from TRUMPF or third-party suppliers.
