Born in 1973 in Erwitte. Studied physical engineering at the Münster University of Applied Sciences and studied physics at the State University of New York in Buffalo, USA. Subsequent doctorate in applied physics with a focus on solid-state lasers at the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena.
Joined TRUMPF Lasermarking Systems AG as project manager in 2005. This was followed by tenures at various TRUMPF locations and other companies in technical management positions.
As of 2018, CEO of TRUMPF Photonics Inc. in Cranbury, NJ (USA).
From 2020 to 2023, CEO of TRUMPF Laser GmbH in Schramberg.
