TRUMPF launches the new “TruLaser 8000 Power Edition” laser cutting machine with 50 kW of laser power // More than twice the laser power of previous models enables cost-effective cutting of material thicknesses up to 80 millimeters // Ideal for applications in heavy machinery and plant construction as well as in steel service centers
EuroBLECH: TRUMPF doubles laser power in its 2D laser cutting portfolio
Ditzingen / Hanover, October 21, 2026 – At the EuroBLECH trade show, TRUMPF is announcing a new laser cutting machine with significantly higher laser power. The new “TruLaser 8000 Power Edition” features a 50-kilowatt fiber laser, delivering more than twice the power of the most powerful laser previously offered in TRUMPF’s machine tool portfolio. “As one of the market and technology leaders in the machine tool sector, we’re setting new standards with the TruLaser 8000 Power Edition. It combines exceptionally high laser power with high precision, cutting speed, machining quality and process reliability. No other solution on the sheet metal fabrication market offers this combination,” says Martin Blaschke, product manager at TRUMPF.
The machine combines precision and productivity at high laser power
TRUMPF’s new laser cutting machine offers users in the construction and stainless steel processing industries significant advantages, starting at a material thickness of just ten millimeters. Its strength lies not only in its high laser power, but above all in its ability to translate that power into high cut quality, stable processes, and cost-effective machining. “High-power laser cutting machines have been on the market for many years. The real challenge, however, is effectively deliver that power to the workpiece – something only a few providers can do. Drawing on our core expertise in laser technology and machine tool manufacturing, we have developed a solution that combines high productivity with the precision and robustness that are hallmarks of TRUMPF,” says Blaschke.
Greater transparency for higher productivity
Just like the new TruLaser 5000 generation of cutting machines, which TRUMPF is showcasing for the first time at EuroBLECH, the TruLaser 8000 Power Edition also features numerous functions that ensure greater transparency in day-to-day production. Multiple integrated cameras provide views of the entire interior of the machine, the cutting process, and the pallet changer. The live images can be accessed from any location, enabling users to quickly identify the causes of malfunctions and take targeted action. An additional screen on the control panel gives users access to live video feeds and data from other machines. This creates a centralized production dashboard that provides a clear overview of machine status, remaining runtime, and current events. Camera images and real-time notifications immediately show where action is needed. This enables employees to react more quickly, reduce unplanned downtime, and monitor multiple machines simultaneously. Detailed utilization reports also reveal opportunities to specifically improve operation, availability, and productivity.
Suitable for demanding cutting tasks involving thick sheet metal
Depending on the format, the TruLaser 8000 Power Edition processes sheets ranging in size from 3 x 1.5 meters to 8 x 2.5 meters. It is particularly well-suited for companies that wish to expand their processing capabilities to include thicker materials while meeting the highest quality standards. Typical applications include heavy machinery and plant engineering, steel service centers, the defense industry, and infrastructure projects. In these sectors, material thicknesses of up to 80 millimeters can be processed with precision and high productivity.
The market launch will take place at EuroBLECH 2026. In April 2027, TRUMPF will also present the TruLaser 8000 Power Edition at its in-house trade show, INTECH.
